Located in the heart of wine-rich Piedmont, Cascina Ghercina is the vibrant testament to Paolo and Guido Sartirano's love for authentic Piedmontese wines. These brothers are not just winemakers; they are keepers of traditions, inherited from generations before them, blended with the precision offered by contemporary technologies. When you open a wine from Cascina Ghercina, you taste the rich history of the Langhe, and specifically Novello - a place close to the iconic town of Barolo. Central to this heritage is Lake Ghercina, gracefully embraced by extensive vineyards. Here, amid this enchanting landscape, begins the magic that ultimately reaches your table, as a celebration of tradition and the pure pleasure of quality wine.

The Moscato d'Asti from Cascina Ghercina is more than just a wine; it is a celebration in itself. This famous slightly sparkling sweet wine from Piedmont has everything you would expect and more. A brilliant golden hue already hints at its rich flavor profile. Upon first sniff you are greeted by distinct aromas of orange blossom, peach and lime. But wait, there's more. A soft, velvety sip reveals notes of acacia honey that linger long on the palate. While it goes well with sweet treats such as pastries and desserts (think of crème brulée, a panna cotta or even panettone), you can also serve it perfectly as an aperitif. The light bubble makes it very versatile!.

In terms of production, every aspect of winemaking is approached with precision. After a soft pressing, the must is kept refrigerated at 0-4°C, waiting for the ideal moment for fermentation. This fermentation takes place in a pressure tank before bottling, which gives the wine its sparkling character. Although this wine is ready to enjoy now, it has the potential to develop for another 2 years in the cellar.
