Collection: Goofy Grapes

The wines made from grapes you've never heard of or perhaps never thought of! A fun experience of new combinations of scents and flavors that you don't often come across in wines!

For the white wines we start with a Godello! A grape that many people have never heard of, but is perfect for a drink in the summer! Is the weather nice? Throw it in the fridge and take it ice cold into the park! We also have the Fiano grape from southern Italy. A classic grape normally made near Naples, but now from Puglia. Think of a mix of Albariño with Viognier. A unique combination of delicious flavors; And that for around 10 euros!

Then we have something unique and that is the Gewürztraminer grape from Alsace in France. Once you've tasted it, you'll know: you either love it or you never want to drink it again! Lively, floral and of course the classic lychee flavour. It has wonderful acidity but is also not 100% dry. Delicious contrasts in the tastes and as soon as you have an Asian recipe with lots of exotic spices, this is always a delicious wine!

A highlight and personal favorite of mine is the Arneis grape. It grows in the area of the famous Barolo wines! The white grape was planted between the Nebbiolo grapes (the grape used for Barolo) so that the birds could eat the cheaper grapes instead of the expensive Nebbiolo grapes. In the 1970s the Arneis grape was almost extinct, but luckily saved and is now made as a delicious full-bodied but still fresh white wine with the recognizable Italian bitter at the end!

For the Red wines we start in Spain! A light red wine with a beautiful almost floral aroma but still fresh, lively and very soft tannins. It's the Mencia grape! A really delicious red wine for the summer! Second, we have the Bonarda grape from faraway Argentina. And he is certainly as temperamental as the average Argentinian! Think of a combination of an Argentine Malbec and a mobile phone blend from the Rhône!

Then we go to Portugal! The Castelāo grape is made into a delicious full-bodied wine that is really very good for its price! In addition, we have found a unique grape, namely the Lledoner Pelut! It is a medieval grape that is a close relative of the Grenache and has its origin in Catalunya. In contrast to the Grenache grape, it is a little less fruit-oriented and has a little more pepper and floral/spicy! Very fun to try!
