Taschlerhof is a fairly small winery, the owner is Peter Wachler, a young winegrower who makes the wines from the grapes on his only 4 hectares on the steepest slopes and in the way he thinks it should and the result is impressive, it are all special wines.
Only 4 different grape varieties have been planted, Riesling, Kerner, Sylvaner and Gewürztraminer. The limitation to only 4 types and the small number of bottles ensure a stable, controllable quality and an exquisite wine enjoyment. With 4 varieties, permanent control and the small yield, he makes a wine that receives many awards. The wines have a fantastic aftertaste, a beautiful fruity bouquet and beautiful aromas. The wines are limited and often run out before the next harvest is ready for sale.
The Riesling grapes are usually harvested in mid-October. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in large wooden barrels (acacia). Aged in steel tanks for 4 months on the fine must. Clear, straw yellow in color with a slightly greenish sheen. Clean, distinct, fragrant, varietal aroma with fine fruity notes (peach, pear). The elegant acidity is harmoniously integrated into the fruit structure. Goes well with starters, fish, shellfish and crustaceans (especially fried or grilled), white meats and poultry.
