What an excellent Bonardo from La Posta. Wonderful scents and wonderful flavors. The vineyard from which this Bonardo originates is 49 years old and is located at an altitude of 2300 meters. Here the grapes benefit from a great climate, where heat is alternated with coolness at night. Discover this Armando Bonardo and you will be surprised by the smooth fruity taste.

La Posta Winery is a special brand. It was founded in 2002 by Laura Catena, daughter of renowned wine pioneer Nicolas Catena. Her motivation was to offer small winegrowers in Mendoza their own stage. They are not real winegrowers themselves, because they do not make the wine themselves. It is a winery that sources its grapes from various grape growers. The wines are made by one and the same winemaker. So one grows the grapes, the other makes wine from it.

This also applies to this Armando Bonarda, where the grapes come from the vineyards of the Armando family. They started their own vineyards in 1887. This Bonardo comes from a vineyard that was planted in 1963 by the grandfather of the family. The high quality of this wine is due to perfect care and little irrigation. The grape does very well here, making delicious smooth wines. This is a somewhat serious variant. This Bonardo has a lot of strength, and can therefore also undergo wood aging. It matures for no less than ten months in oak barrels, of which 70 percent is French and 30 percent American oak. All barrels have been used to keep the fruit intact. It provides an ideal combination between wood and fruit, with a special depth.

The La Posta Armando Bonarda opens with an inviting bouquet of raspberries, cherries, leather, cedar and a bit of a smoky, moist earth aroma. The wine tastes smooth and delicious to drink. It is full of ripe, sweet fruit, more leather and soft notes of spice and cocoa that build up in the middle of the mouth and lead to the dry, long finish. It may even have a hint of nutty note to it, what a great wine!
