A small hidden Viognier vineyard was found while exploring the province of Valladolid. This has resulted in an aromatic wine with a lot of volume and full of taste. Definitely recommended!
The vineyards of winery Jose Pariente are located in the heart of the Rueda appellation, at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. At this winery, family is central and tradition and passion for good wine come together. In the 1960s, Jose Pariente started producing artisanal white wines from grapes of exceptional quality. Today daughter Victoria Pariente is at the helm. Under her leadership, the bodega has become a big name in the Rueda. With a passion for innovation and by using the most advanced technologies, Bodegas José Pariente makes five different white wines. Five unique expressions of the terroir's temperament while at the same time an expression of the family's prefect understanding of the land, the vines and the varietals they work with and the art of winemaking.
The grapes of the wines of Prieto Pariente come from old vineyards with very low yields, located in Castile and León, in the province of Valladolid and in the mountain region of Sierra de Gredos. In Valladolid, the vineyards are located in three different villages: Mucientes, Pedrosa del Rey and Valbuena de Duero. Each plot is fermented separately, allowing the selection of the most suitable blend for each of the wines. This Viognier is a wine of spontaneous fermentation, partly in stainless steel barrels and partly in 300 liter French oak barrels. The wine is aged for six months.
In the scent a vital viognier with complex aromas of tropical fruits, vanilla and a light spiciness. In the taste, the high age of the sticks gives, in addition to fresh elements, pleasant minerals with an impressively beautiful aftertaste. With the domain Prieto Pariente a long cherished wish of Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente has come true.
