A rosé to shout from the rooftops, so beautiful, depth, softness and freshness, this rosé has it all. The Gavinel winery is located in the south of France and they are proud of it. That is why the label says Sud de France, which gives us a reflection of the origin and the softness. The vineyards for this Gavinel Gris Rose are located in the Mont Baudile Gris sub-region of the Languedoc. Not far from the Côtes de Provence and that is also noticeable in the aroma and taste of this rosé. In the vineyards, the finest local grape varieties are grown, all of which grow in a perfect climate. Lots of sunshine but also coolness from the wind that blows over the mountains through the vineyards.
The old vines on which the harvest grows give the bunches the right strength. This is mainly due to the rich soil structure, which provides the bunches with plenty of nutrition. When the harvest is ripe, vineyard by vineyard the harvest is brought in. This is done early in the morning to protect the bunches from transport to Gavinel and to keep the freshness in them. On arrival, the Gavinel team is already waiting to sort the harvest thoroughly, only the best bunches are pressed and the red skins ferment briefly, giving it its beautiful light colour.
The result is a party, as soon as we pour this Gavinel Gris Rose we see the beautiful light colour that reminds us of a Cotes de Provence. In the aroma it beats many a rosé from that region, because the purity is very high. Apart from the fresh red fruit, we also smell some impressions of peaches, apricots, red flowers and some grapefruit. The taste is fresh at the start, nice powerful nuances of strawberry and raspberry on the tongue. Combined with notes of citrus and light herbs, this is the finishing touch. This Gavinel Gris Rose has already blown many a top rosé off the menu in many top restaurants, which says it all!
