Angelo Gaja is a well-respected name in the world of wine. His pioneering way of working has ensured that his wines have received the most awards in Italy. This modern style of wines in Piedmont is now followed by many other products. Within the family business, his daughters Gaia and Rosanne also play an increasingly important role.

Barolo, also known as 'King of the wines', is made from the Nebbiolo grape. It is best appreciated in the municipality of Barolo and especially on the hills of Serralunga and La Morra. The wine matures for 12 months in wooden barrels and then 18 months in bottle. It creates a complex wine with aromas of redcurrants, blackcurrant and tobacco. The taste is powerful and tannic, but with a refined aftertaste.

2016 is a very special year in Piedmont and has resulted in very good reviews by international wine professionals.

Colour Ruby Red
The wine has in its youth already beautiful aromas of red berries, blackcurrant, tobacco, minerals and smoky oak aromas.
Flavour The taste is dry, but also velvety and soft, very powerful and balanced, a beautiful length, with lovely tannins towards the end.
Serve with Great with beautiful meat dishes, ripe cheeses, but of course also delicious as wine after a nice meal.
