The beautiful winery Egomei is located in the heart of the Rioja wine region. With its 40-year old vines, egomei has a wonderful harvest with full and very powerful trusses. With deeply dug roots, the plants can withstand the warm summers, because the temperature can sometimes rise above 40 degrees. A lot of work is done in the vineyards to give the Tempranillo grapes everything. We also notice this in the wine, because the wines of Egomei are known for their pure style with a lot of power and flexibility from the Rioja wine region. With the modern techniques in which Egomei has invested a lot, we taste this Crianza Carpess again. A rich and full-bodied style with beautiful notes of oak wood and black fruit.
When the Tempranillo grapes for this Carpess have the perfect ripeness, they are harvested early in the morning. Bunch by truss is checked and brought to the modern winery in small wooden crates. There they wait for a fresh shower, something only Egomei does with his grapes. Any imperfections that remain and insects are washed away and the grapes are fresh and ready for pressing. This Carpess undergoes a soft pressing. The wine also matures for 12 months in French and American oak barriques so that it can bear the title Crianza.
