For years our most beloved white wine from the Touraine area in France. The vines of the Gibault family are located along the banks of the Cher, so the vines get many hours of sunshine, sufficient moisture, but also cool nights. This makes the final harvest of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes unique and they have been able to build up a lot of strength from the beautiful living environment. The old tendrils of up to 40 years old are planted in a nutritious soil full of lime and other beautiful properties. All this is important to grow a great Sauvignon Blanc, well they did and they are partly harvested by hand. In this way, only the best bunches end up in the bottle and we notice that in the pure style of this white wine.
The Domaine Gibault harvest is well known throughout the Touraine region, extremely refined bunches that are transported to the press in small crates. When the grapes arrive, they are checked again and the best bunches are pressed very gently. The nice fresh juice is really high quality. Isn't it Sancerre? No, but it does have some characteristics of the iconic Loire wine. The entire wine ages in the Domaine Gibault cellars for a very long time in order to build up as many rich flavors as possible. The wine is brought to the end result in peace, and we notice it all too well.
We can taste that again in this white wine because it is pure and unprecedentedly fresh and ripe in both taste and smell, a real masterpiece of the Gibault family. In short, a great Loire wine, made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This makes this Gibault Sauvignon Blanc a very aromatic wine with an optimal fruit concentration. In the smell aromas of green apples and boxwood. Very fresh and friendly, juicy and tasty. Furthermore, this Gibault Sauvignon Blanc Touraine has hints of fresh white fruit, apple and pear and a little citrus peel! The aftertaste is rich in mineral notes and wonderfully fresh.
