The sangiovese is, of course, the flagship of the Tuscan grapes. But if the place is chosen well, the sangiovese can also do well outside Tuscany. However, the character of the wines is slightly different from the Tuscan variety. The slightly warmer climate of Molise, which is more southerly, produces a somewhat fuller and softer style of Sangiovese. The rules of the DOC Molise, where we find this company, do not provide for a wine exclusively based on Sangiovese, which is therefore marketed under the flag of the IGP of this region, Terre degli Osci. The sangiovese is made here as a nice uncomplicated wine, without any form of wood aging. A wine that is completely made on its fruit, and pre-eminently to drink young.
The Sangiovese is made here as a nice uncomplicated wine, fruity in the smell, with sweet plums and cherries, sultry and slightly spicy, soft and creamy in the taste, elegant, herbs, leather, good acidity. Powerful, smooth red wine. Combine with charcuterie, pasta with meat sauce, meat salad, creamy cheeses with lots of flavor.
