Alta Mora Guardiola Rosso from winery Cusumano is a special wine, because the grapes are grown on volcanic soil. The Nerello Massalere grapes were planted here twenty years ago and give beautiful ripe grapes. And we can enjoy that today. A delicious red wine that makes a nice combination with meat dishes or pastas.

The Italian winery Cusumano in Salemi was founded forty years ago by Francesco Cusumano in Sicily. When Francesco's sons Alberto and Diego joined the company in the 1990s, it gave the family winery another boost in development. With temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, French oak barriques and an air-conditioned storage cellar, Cusumano works at the highest level - which is an important condition for its great success.

Franceso Cusumano has continuously brought his winery forward over the years. He was always driven by the cru idea, as you actually know it from France. He carefully analyzed the right plot for each grape variety to unleash its full potential. He leaves nothing to chance: hand picking, careful selection and careful vinification are part of Cusumano's good tone.

The vineyard has a northern exposure and is located at an altitude of eight hundred meters above sea level. The age of the vines is on average twenty years and the harvest is done by hand in the second half of October. After a strict selection, the grapes are pressed and destemmed, after which the skins are soaked for twelve days at 28 degrees. This is followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Cusumano Alta Mora Rosso is one of the great red wines from Sicily that captivates in every way. Beautiful light ruby red with aromas of ripe cherry fruit, blueberries, jasmine, elderberries, nutmeg and a fine mineral note in the nose. It is elegant and spicy on the palate with fresh fruit, agility and an exciting, perfectly integrated silky tannin structure. The senses of taste are overwhelmed by an array of Mediterranean spices interspersed with the fruity notes. In the aftertaste with fruity and long-lasting finish.
